After Frank O’Hara
Drinking an Irish coffee
you can look at just about anything
in a mysterious way you feel
mysterious too the blues become
deeper blue and green’s still green
but lets out some new ringing and the half-
drunk glasses lined up on the bar glint
in the light like shards on the sea
and remind you of your father even the gold
and shining wood hanging across the walls
like busy earrings framing grandma’s kind face
say yes and you could ask anyone to dance
if you really wanted to and so you do.
