Dry – Don Thompson

The Little Stream – Vincent van Gogh

No older faith than this river
And though it’s gone dry,

The smooth stones, face down,
Pray without ceasing.

Cottonwood and red willow
Will die of thirst,

But somewhere upstream—
A trickle.
