The Tongue is the Rudder of the Soul – J-T Kelly

M.C. EscherFlor de Pascua, Never think before you act

To say too much is blasphemy
Against the goddess of
Fire, poetry
And love.
To say
Too little is
A sin. You have to pray
And pray until the goddess says,
“Enough!” And then you must cut off
Your tongue — or quickly learn
That if you scoff
You’ll burn.
