Delight – Poetry by Cynthia Piman

Oblivious, you await delight,
unaware of the particular pattern
of morning light that falls by your feet
on the red bricks of the hearth –
a bright splash of the sun’s white shine
shimmering, dancing with the shadows
of the broad-branched trees
sprouting brand new leaves.
