Poem by Alan Britt
(Wild electrons describe César Vallejo—
wild electrons were all he knew.)
~Jacqueline del Valle
Paul, Alan & Richard came to believe
that wild electrons ruled the universe.
But the universe fought back forcing
the trio to reevaluate themselves
inside & out.
One morning wild electrons vaporized
into a murmuration of starlings above
licorice lampposts along Reisterstown Road.
& from that day forward the universe
like a cuttlefish prying open a petrified
scallop shell dismantled their mythologies.
So, the three men invented, as obtuse humans
are sometimes wont, new mythologies
before going their separate ways.
