I am not a religious person, but I could not fail to be moved by Roger van der Weyden’s The Descent from the Cross, painted in 1435 and now in the Museo del Prado, in Madrid. While understanding the significance associated with it, my immediate impression is the passion behind a mother’s tears.
Thank you for accepting this, Brian. I’m proud to be featured here.
loved the way the poem has been shaped like something flowing as in a teardrop.
How apropos. Thank you.
My pleasure
I think the poem captures your thoughts as you describe them above. Whether mortal or god, the mother cries for her son.
Thank you, Merril. Yes, there is no mistaking a mother’s anguish.
Beautifully written Ken 😊
