Crystal Clear Shallows – A Poem by Ivor Steven

Capture

Submitted by Ivor Steven

Sitting here upon golden sand
Looking toward the blue horizon
I see two distinct lines
Hues in a morning rainbow
Dropping to where the bay meets the sky
Rippling like loose poetry pages
Across whispering foamy seas
Tumbling along on an easterly sea-breeze
Gently caressing the softened shoreline
Trickling amongst crystal clear shallows
Shimmering on a diamond mirror
Settling here upon a golden pond

About the Poet

Ivor Steven is a part-time plumber, a former industrial chemist, and now likes to call himself a plumber/poet. He has had several of his poems published. He started writing eighteen years ago, after suffering a stroke, to help with his rehabilitation process. Ivor was also the primary carer for his wife during the thirty years of her severe MS illness. He credits his wife with being the main inspiration behind his writings.
